DESCRIPTION:
EPW - Joseph Strixner, Wien (Vienna), verge fusee with Viennese Renaissance-style enameled oval case, 38mm x 47mm with swivel bale excluded, gilt white metal OF case, rear with colorful scene of Poseidon (Greek God of the Sea) alongside a nude female figure at left and battling a bearded male figure at lower right, perimeter with black floral detail against a light pink background, inner rear with scene of eagle carrying a child, white and multicolor basse-taille enamel dial in Renaissance period style, KWKS, verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced and foliate scrolled two-fitted balance bridge, s#505.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine scratches; excellent dial with small flakes adjacent affixing screws; fair hour hand with oxide and finish loss, no minute hand present; case shows very little wear, small abrasion at center rear, few fine scratches elsewhere to rear, enamel is substantially intact with small area of soft enamel repair at perimeter adjacent right side of rear, few small additional smaller spots of soft enamel repair elsewhere to perimeter adjacent rear; bale pivots freely; good crystal with numerous small finish imperfections and few very short scratches.
